Weidberg<\/em><\/a>, the Divisional Court held that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ontario.ca\/laws\/statute\/02l24#BK21\" target=\"_blank\">s. 18<\/a> of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ontario.ca\/laws\/statute\/02l24\" target=\"_blank\">Limitations Act<\/a>, which prescribes the limitation of claims for contribution and indemnity, does not apply to contractual limitation periods.\u00a0 It remains available to contracting parties to limit the scope of liability in a contract.\u00a0 The right of a party to claim contribution and indemnity against another party is lost where a contract extinguishes a plaintiff&#8217;s right to advance a claim.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In Weinbaum v.
